Dear Friends & Neighbors,
For the past 15 years, it has been an honor to serve as a Member of the Glendale Board of Education and to be a strong advocate for our students’ welfare. With your support, I would like to continue the improvements we’ve made in Glendale schools in recent years. This year, however, things are different….
For the first time in Glendale’s history, the Glendale Unified School District (GUSD) will hold elections for seats representing specific geographic areas, called “by-district elections.”
I am running for reelection in Glendale’s District B, and I am asking for your support to join me so that together we can create the brightest and safest possible future for our students, our school district and our community.
Despite the state severely reducing school funding over the past several years, we have maintained a quality instructional program for our students. Our work has led to 25 Glendale and La Crescenta schools being named on California’s list of distinguished schools, nine of which have been awarded the National Blue Ribbon status.
In addition, we have maintained music, athletics, and arts programs, lower class sizes in grades K-3, expanded technology courses and enhanced our science programs. My commitment to cut waste and maintain solvency has also resulted in avoiding layoffs and furlough days for our teachers and staff.
Throughout my tenure, we were able to maintain financial stability while raising the bar for student achievement and safety. As a father of five children, there is nothing more important to me than the quality of education our children are receiving, and most importantly, their safety.
Once again, I would like to thank you for your confidence in me. You have been right along-side me in the past. Please continue to be right there with me now, for the future of our schools and our kids.
Member, Board of Education
